Hi Doris,

Yeah I got hit with that CAPTCHA as well. The Irony that it was on a hot fix for TTS corruption was not lost on me and a few choice words where throan about the office. hahaha

I hope you can get this sorted, I also saw and tryed the deleting of the files in

C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Speech\Files\MSASR

Which did nothing. The only thing that did work was the reinstall for me.

Hi,Steve,

Yeah, I know and I have instructions I saved on how to do this including deletion of corrupted files. However, it has not done the trick this time on my box. Maybe I have to have a look-see in the registry and see what I can monkey around with in there. I had to delete some ghost voices manually out of their sometime back.

There actually is a Microsoft Hotfix for this problem but it is one that is mailed out on request only and I only got asfar as the visual verification page for it. I do not know if the hotfix was included in sp3 or not.

thanks much.

Hey, Steve,

No, I actualy had tried that befoer with a few extra steps that
actually deleted the potentially corrupted files befoer reinstalling
sapi 5 but i still get this error mesage:

begin quote

Speech Properties
The requested task cannot be carried out because the necessary engine
could not be created. Please select a
different engine and/or a different audio device.
OK

end quote

Thanks much and God Bless,
