Hi Doris,

If you install the sapi5.inf as I outlined, you should cure your speech
recognition error too.

The ssapi that comes with win xp is sapi 5.1 and not sapi 4. Sapi 4 
came with win 2k.

I'll send you a asapi repair tool off list that you can try. If that 
doesn't work, you can try to reinstall sapi 5 from your xp cd.

I am also having the speech recognition engine error and have not 
been able to fix that yet but that should not impact your being able 
to change the default tts voice.

I'm intersted to see wwhat solutions people come up with.
