Hi, before the hubs, thought of changing the channels on which the network is?
I don't know any more, as when I did it Vergin, they did it remotely for me,
but that has certainly fixed things.

Yes I suspect you're right but shouldn't they replace the hub as part of
your agreement with them? I guess because they're line check says the line
is fine, they're not prepared to admit there's anything actually wrong.

Hi Chrissie.
It could be the BT hub that's at fault. Try replacing the hub with an
alternative such as the TP-Link TD-W9980 Fiber router which incidentally BT
sell in their online shop! the irony. they're recommending products from
other manufacturers probably because they can't provide the same quality via
their own BT hubs. The interface is also awful the last time I tried a BT
hub. I replace all equipment from any ISP that i'm with with my own so I can
directly troubleshoot issues.
cheers,
Mo.

Hi,
Plusnet told me, that OpenReach do have lower tolerances. I think
it's about 5MB. If you can't get at least 5MB up on fibre, you can
report it to Openreach.
All the best

Well interestingly enough up till a couple of weeks ago I was getting
8 to 10mbps but 0.99! I could almost get better rom dialup. I'll try
your suggestion. i guess they're only interested in download as it's
often from that people make money, not uploads, or am I just being

Hi, I'll give it a guess, sounds as if the BT cables around your area,
can't handle hier speeds. I ran a speed test app through my Vergin,
where they say I get 100 megs, and indeed, I got 105 megs once.
Unfortunately, this is where not existing tech support of BT becomes
an issue. Have you tried searching google, find BT's post code
checker, putting in BT's post code, and find out what BT's web checker

Subject: [access-uk] Re: Broadband Speed
while we're talking broadband speed, can anyone give me some advice on
what to do next concerning broadband speeds.
I am with BT and have BT infinity 2 which gives me download speeds up
to 80 mbps and I should get an upload speed of up to, though I'll
never get it, 20mbps. Believe it or not, using the BT speedtest I get
a download speed of
61 mbps which is certainly acceptable, however my upload speed is
0.99 mbps
which certainly isn't acceptable. I have been in touch with BT and
believe it or not I was told, by their broadband technical team that
they do not guarantee an upload speed and consequently don't appear to
want to do anything about it. This has gone on for the last 2 weeks
going backwards and forwards with them and they don't seem inclined to
I've done the usual stuff like powering off the hubg and the routerspeed.
and powering back on, plus re-setting the hub with no increase in upload
anyone know how I can take this further please.please.
thanks for any assistance.

Can someone point me to a simple program to check my broadband speed
The ones I've found are far too complicated for me I'm afraid.
Many thanks Roger
