Subject: [access-uk] Braillesense help please

Hello List

I have a braillesense which I am trying to get to grips with and
would be very grateful for some much needed help.

1. How do i save a file as a microsoft word doc, and can I
translate a txt file which has already been saved to that format?

Answer: you can save your file as a DOC extension by pressing the Save As option on the File menu, and choosing DOC from the dropdown list available, or by just typing DOC at the end of the file name as you would on the PC.

Presumably, you want to save a TXT file as a DOC file? I have never needed to do this on the Sense, but my guess is that you would again bring up the Save As option, and ensure you choose DOC instead of TXT for the extension.

2. How do I get the Braillesense to recognise my wifi? (step by
step instructions please if possible)

Answer: you need to go into Settings, then Set Up Internet, then Wireless LAN, and see if your device finds any networks local to you by scrolling on hopefully any that appear. If yours comes up, enter on it, and follow the instructions to enter the passkey, and choose Connect. This can be hit or miss, I agree, so you may need to go into Advanced, and create a manual profile. Luckily I did not need to do this as mine found our WiFi network, but it wouldn't work when I was away from home last week, and that was a tad irritating. Also remember to check from Global Options that Wireless Lan is
ticked.

3. How do I set up e-mail on the unit?

Answer: you open Email on the Sense, go to Tools, and choose Accounts Manager. You then tab to Add, and begin creating your Email account. Once you have done this, you simply open the Email program in future, go to Messages, choose the account you have created, (as you can have more than
one), and check for incoming mail.

Please let me know if I can help further.

Any replies, please could you kindly e-mail me at:

I rarely use the e-mail address which I am using to send this
message now.

Thanks for your help.
