Hi, I don't think there is anything Duxbury can do that BM can't but you do have a lot more control of the finished product. Duxbury is very capable of making complex rules. So if a standard changes, and you haven't yet got the latest Dux, it's easy to update things like Braille rules. Can it do anything the cheaper Braille Programs cannot do? I had something once called Braille Master and I loved it but I don't think it went even to Windows 2000. It cost a hundred pound at the time. -----Original message----- From: Jackie Cairns Sent: 14/10/2012, 11:28 am To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Braillemaker Hi Eleanor and Niamh Off the top of my head, Braille Maker comes in two flavours, Standard and Professional. Standard used to be £195, and Professional £395, but that may have changed. Last I knew, Duxbury was £430. They are both good programs. I just prefer Braille Maker for its more simplistic and straightforward layout. It isn't that I don't like Duxbury, I just prefer Braille Maker. Support for both is very good indeed wherever you obtain it. But Brian Cairney knows the Braille Maker program very well, as does George with Duxbury. Both programs also support the Index embossers.
