it is not grade 2 that is outdated but the idea of over religious zealots
insisting on braille contractions that are context sensitive certainly is.

Yes, you Did use dot five and L in landlord. As to you saying:
"having braille signs relating to words in a specific way is clearly
outdated ", is something Else I don't agree with, what about:
nec for necessary,
lr for letter,
k for knowledge,
cd for could, etc, etc.
Why should we fluent braille readers put-up with grade One just because some
don't learn the full braille system for whatever reason. Braille is bulky
enough without putting up with grade one, it would be like a child who Only
learnt to print and never joined up their letters! lol

having braille signs relating to words in a specific way is clearly outdated
and frankly wrong. Technically at least I don't think for example that dot
5 l can be used in landlord. Braille should not be shaped by religious
values. If people have a particular religious belief that is fine as we all
have the right to believe in what we want but that should not affect the
rules of something like Braille which is intended for use irrespective of
religious persuasion.

Cheers

No it wasn't specific. For instance, you could use dot5 c in the name
Christine.

I hadn't thought of that about the Christ sign, though if that word appears
in another faith's religious context couldn't the sign be used? I think
what I meant is it is not faith specific.
