This isn't true.  Most good spellers read a lot which is what makes them 
good spellers.  Also, I think, they care how words are spelled.  When one is 
in doubt as to the spelling of a word, he usually pictures how the word is 
spelled in his mind as he has seen it written. We Braille readers picture 
the words written in their contracted form.  As we know what those 
contractions mean we spell the words correctly.
