A pity you have to give anything to George Osborne! I know what I would like
to give him, and can assure you it wouldn't be money!! (big smiles). Glad,
nevertheless, you like your new product.

Hi Jackie and Martin

Many thanks for your replies. Oh Well! I'll just have to pay- it will be my
contribution to the Exchequer. The Bradley is a class watch, sorry time
piece <smiles>.

Kind regards

Henry

I had an email from the folk at Bradley saying they may have sent two
watches to some people by mistake and if you were prepared to pay any import
duty you could keep them both.

The first watch came, I think, from America and had no import duty involved.

The second came from Hong Kong, and I received a demand from Fedex a week
later for £46 import duty and charges.

I had already donated the second watch to someone so no longer had it. What
annoyed me most was that Fedex must have paid the duty and then demanded it
back after the fact. I had no indication when Fedex delivered the watch that
duty had been charged, and had no option but to pay it.

Fedex did not have my permission to pay any import duty on my behalf, and
had I known it would be charged, I would have refused the delivery and had
it returned to the company.

The way I looked at it in the end was, I thought I was getting something for
nothing. Well, I didn't!!

Enjoy the watch, by the way, it took a bit of getting used to, but works
well.

Hi

A couple of weeks ago I took delivery of the Bradley watch. I have just
received a letter fron a company called Federal Express (Europe) stating I
owe £31... for import duty-is this correct?

best wishes

Henry
