As Steve says the USB memory stick may be suspect. Try it in one of your own
players that you know works and see what happens there.. I noticed a while
ago that Walter keeps his music in WAV format and nothing I have will play
it without first being converted to MP3 or such.

Yes, probably the MP3 is in a weird sampling rate. Check in Properties of
any of the files.
Also, make sure the USB stick is formatted to Fat32 standard, it won't work
if they are NTFS formatted.

Nextweek I am helping with a presentation on behalf of Torch and they have
given me some pieces of equipment to show, one of which is a Boombox. I have
copied some hymns onto the USB stick to demonstrate how sight impaired
people might use such equipment to access religious material, but, although
I can get the radio on the Boombox to work, I don't seem able to play the
USB memory stick.
I know many people use this device to access talking newspapers. Are these
not in mp3 format then?
Does anyone have any ideas why the memory stick isn't playing?
