Hi Christine, Sorry I'm only getting around to replying to your mail now. I have been using the bookcourier now for about seven years, and think it's the best device for reading books on the move. My reason for this, is that it doesn't come with an internal battery, so if I'm on the move, and my batteries run out of power, and can swop them for another set and read away. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Transferring books is easy. 1.. if you open up the transfer tool. You will need to tell it where to search for your daisy books for example. 2.. Press the alt key, and arrow over to daisy. Press down arrow twice to where is says (specify library location). Tab to browse, and activate it with space bar. Choose from where your books are saved, and tab to ok, and hit space bar. 3.. 4.. 2. If you want to transfer a daisy book, you will need to tab to the dais button, and activate it with the space bar. 5.. It will then display a list of daisy books from which you can pick from, by using the down arrow keys. 6.. 4. tab to the transfer button, and hit space bar. 7.. 5. It will then give you the name of the book being transferred, so just tab to ok and hit space bar. 8.. 6. the books will begin transferring to your bookcourier. 9.. Note, this takes a while, the transfer tool is very slow. Hope that helps, if you ned any more info, just shout. Brian. ----- Original Message ----- From: Christine Weetman To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, June 16, 2010 12:21 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Book Courier question Please? Hi Ibrahim, yes, I've done all that, been to the website, downloaded the transfer tool, but I can't get what is on my computer to go in to the courier. Phew, this is harder than I could have ever imagined. Smiles, from Christine who was hoping for an Easy solution! lol ----- Original Message ----- From: Ibrahim Gucukoglu To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, June 16, 2010 12:10 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Book Courier question Please? Hi Christeen. Wow, the book courier is a very old piece of kit, I don't know many people still packing these devices. The Book Courier website should still be up, its at www.bookcourier.com. As far as I know although there probably wont be many subscribers to it now, the BC mailing list should still be in operation. My advice to you would be to download the user manual and latest version of the transfer tool software, check that your Courier's firmware is up to date and then use the Daisy transfer function in the transfer tool to import your book in to the courier. I can't remember the exact procedure, but it should be obvious enough when you have the documentation. All the best and take care, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: Christine Weetman To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, June 15, 2010 11:52 PM Subject: [access-uk] Book Courier question Please? Hi, Nice to be back on the group again after a time away, now my question is: I have just purchased a secondhand book courier and I think it's Great. I've been using it like I had my ZenStone MP3 player, (which a few of us on this group purchased and played with when they came out and what fun we had chatting and helping each-other), but now I want to get to know my courier better and get more out of it. I'd like to play daisy talking books from RNIB talking books and am having problems getting my courier to read the book, now I have downloaded the transfer tool software and have removed all the other things I had on my Courier and would love to fill it Properly. Please, is there an emailing group still up and running which I can join? If so, could you please let me have the emailing subscribe info? Thanks for any help. Regards, Christine W.
