Highly complicated but there is a bone somewhere there that connects to the
Cochlear which transmits sound impulses to the brain. A standard form of
hearing for people who, mainly have no eardrum for normal hearing methods.
It has been adopted as a way you can hear through headphones without cutting
out the other sounds such as surrounding conversations.

They are Bluetooth headphones that sit behind the ear and allow the person
to hear both the input from the headset and the surrounding ambient
noises.
I think it would be excellent for things such as GPS systems or even, like
many sighted people do, for us to listen to music on the go.
