Hi Carol and James

My NC10 is, as you rightly say Carol, networked with a name. I have no
problem doing this on my XP desktop machine, or the Vista laptop. But I
just can't get the Samsung to transfer a file in the exact same way. It
sees the N82, but it just won't transfer, and the mobile won't bring up
the accept sequence to allow the transfer.

What rather puzzles me is the fact that the Samsung has two lots of
Bluetooth in the Send To option, and the other machines only have the
one. I've been doing this same operation for months without difficulty,
but I just can't get the little bugger to do it on the NC10. It isn't
massively important as I have the ability to do it elsewhere, but I'd
sure as hell like to fix it so I can send a file across on the Netbook.

The other reason why I think there may be a conflict somewhere is that,
in the Windows Update, there is an optional Bluetooth hardware driver to
update. But when I select it to install, it says it failed to update,
so the offer to do this still remains whenever I go back in.

Oh well ... I'll keep going. (smiles).

Jackie,

Picking up on Barbara's post, I expect you have your computer networked
already and that therefore you've given him/her a name! <Smiles> If so
then her comments may not apply and I can only think that maybe you
haven't been able to follow instructions given by someone yesterday
about right clicking in the system tray and selecting an option to
transfer files, or something, that way and making sure your computer and
phone are visible to each other (bluetooth turned on for each) and that
one is searching for the other. I rather suspect though that I'm
telling my grandmother how to suck eggs here and that you've been all
through the saga and still (probably
rightly) think it's a software conflict, but thought I'd just come in
because I can't see that there really should be this problem. (Stranger
things havfe been known to happen though).

If you think we can help further, of course tell us what you've tried so
far - otherwise, sorry, cadn't do more this time around!

Cheers.
