That's a reasonable assumption, Andy.

However, if you possibly can, I'd still ask the retailer you
buy from if it will work with that particular headset.

Better still, if you can, buy both from the same retailer.
Then he's really screwed down.

George.

George - I get the picture, many thanks. Now, does this mean
I can go ahead
and buy any kind of dongle from anywhere, and it will work
with whatever
Bluetooth headset I buy? -

Andy

| Hi Andy,
|
| Bluetooth dongles, usually these days a USB device, have
| become fairly generic.
|
| To try and put it in layman's terms, they are sort of like
a
| transmitter receiver that can communicate with a similar
| device.
|
| However, the difference is that they each send out a
unique
| signal, but in such a way that they can be "paired".
|
| So what basically happens is that the two devices see each
| other, and one says, "I'm device ABC" will you talk to me?
|
| The other device says "I'm device XYZ and I can see device
| ABC", do you (Andy, the computer user) want to let me talk
| to (or pair with) ABC?)
|
| You say yes, and Bob's your uncle.
|
| George.

|
| Hi all -
|
| This is a new area for me.
|
| I believe I need a Bluetooth dongle for my pc, in order to
| use a Bluetooth
| headset chordlessly. Are said dongles all the same? Does
it
| matter what I go
| for?
|
| Thanks - Andy
