If this is true, it is nonsense.

Subject: [access-uk] Blind or Severely sight impaired?

Hi all

Apologies is this is slightly off topic.

I am reviewing a consultation document on developing a strategy for
the provision of services to those who suffer with a sensory
impairment and came across the following statement

"It is acknowledged that the language is changing and the term
"blind" is to be changed into "severely sight impaired".

Is this news to me alone?

I am a professional, blind and not in the least bit concerned to be
known as such.

Your opinions please.

If such a change is proposed, by whom?

Best regards
