Hi Ibrahim,

Oh I know, I wouldn't have a problem with purchasing the DVD's if it
was 100% necessary. But surely I can backup to an external drive, and
then restore from that?

Hi James.

Don't worry about booting from a floppy, I can assure you that this is not
at all necessary since it can make a bootable disc. As for your media
shortage, you'll have to invest in more discs if you want to completely back
up your system. The only other option would be to uninstall all non
essential programs, clear away junk and clutter from the drive and move all
essential working files, music, video and other multimedia content to an
external hard disc to reduce the size of your hard disc use. Image for
windows backs up the partition and everything in it, so you could also
create a new partition to move your stuff in to if you are familiar with a
partitioning tool.

All the best, Ibrahim.
