I think BT must still have contract with Yahoo.

Customers can log in via bt.com as well as
via Yahoo

As far as I am aware, BT no longer have a contract with yahoo. so
assuming your email is now with BT and no yahoo. I am puzzled as to
why you are a) getting recurrent lockout and b) BT are citing yahoo
policy as the issue preventing them from resolving the matter.

The situation you described is one reason I no longer use BT mail as
BT will use every trick in the book to avoid dealing with issues that
rest plainly in their court so to speak.

Has anything like the following ever happen to any of you.

About every 2 montths I get locked out of my email account.
I am forced to do a password reset.
here is a quote from BT about the issue.

"BT attention now turned to the activity that was driving
this lock
and
after various escalations into Yahoo it was their final
position that
they
were unable to disclose the IP addresses that were actually
driving
this
activity to which there were multiple locations. This is part
of their
business model and data protection act not to disclose such
information
to either BT or the owner of the email address. As there were
multiple
IP addresses noted as driving this then this would suggest
that the
activity is not being driven by a single user and most likely
a BOTNET
which I described as a network of infected computers which a
social
engineer can task to perform either a group dictionary attack
to try
and guess your password or by running spam sending software
attempting
to send messages not just from your email address but numerous
in one
go.
Unfortunately as we have identified it is a genuine security
that is affecting you and it is being driven by a 3rd party in
an
attempt
to try and gain access into the account and/or send emails out
as you
there is nothing more we can do."
