Hi Steve.

Yup it was an ADSL modem router so I was able to use it's setup utility just fine.
Thanks

You say you have a router, is it actaully a router or an ADSL MODEM?

You have the basics to set it up no worries but if you connect to the router with an ethernet cable, you won't need any drivers.
If it is an ADSL MODEM and not an ADSL MODEM router you will need drivers from the CD.

I hope that this makes some sort of sense?

Steve.

Hi all.

My girlfriend is having BT Total Broadband installed tomorrow.

Never having used ADSL before I'd like a quick heads up.

Please could somebody confirm the following and also give me the url for the
routers web utility?

On the cd there's no manual! Only a brief tutorial which doesn't give ya
that useful snippit.

I'm guessing the procedure will go like this.

1. Man comes to install line.

2. I plug the filter into the phone line.

3. I plug a phone wire into the end of the filter and plug it's end into a
free socket on the router.

I know how to connect it to the PC having looked at the equipment last
night.

Is it necessary to run the installation cd or is this extra fluff?

Thanks guys.

Bary
