Is a physical someone actually calling in person?

If there's a telephone line in place, they usually just
switch broadband on from the exchange, and leave you to do
the rest at your end.

Hi all.

My girlfriend is having BT Total Broadband installed
tomorrow.

Never having used ADSL before I'd like a quick heads up.

Please could somebody confirm the following and also give me
the url for the routers web utility?

On the cd there's no manual! Only a brief tutorial which
doesn't give ya that useful snippit.

I'm guessing the procedure will go like this.

1. Man comes to install line.

2. I plug the filter into the phone line.

3. I plug a phone wire into the end of the filter and plug
it's end into a free socket on the router.

I know how to connect it to the PC having looked at the
equipment last night.

Is it necessary to run the installation cd or is this extra
fluff?

Thanks guys.

Bary
