Hi George, I always had this problem when I switched ISPs. If I wanted to use my old one's email address, I had to put in the new one's SMTP address into the old account. Otherwise I got an error. I was always able to receive. I must admit I haven't switched ISPs for some years so don't know if this is still an issue. He can browse the internet and talk on Skype, just not able to send mail, but odd that he can receive mail. George. If the ISP is different, your friend should try using their SMTP settings. The mail will still come from the BT address. An associate in the Canaries can receive e-mail, but is unable to send. Both POP3 and SMTP servers, which work here OK in the UK, are set to "mail.btinternet.com". Any suggestions as to where to begin looking? George.
