Hi Eleanor

It's BT's version of fibre optic broadband. Virgin Media, if you may
recall, dug up the roads in many areas and put in fibre optic cables and
gave you a separate modem to connect to broadband. Until now, we've been
using BT's ADSL service, which splits your phone line. From today, the guy
came and changed things so that we don't have filters on every phone that
connects into the wall socket. There is just one filter that goes to the
master box and they change the wire that goes to the exchange outside.
That's the best way I can explain it. Basically we are supposed to get a
much faster service for a few quid more. It's all a rip-off to me, but then
I'm cynical about this "up to" crap.

Anyway it's done and downloading updates etc seems much quicker.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns
