Hi,
In materials like books, articles etc, capitals are used for emphasis as well
as grammar. Also, a capital sign is just like a punctuation symbol like a full
stop or a comma. By suggesting we don't use the capital sign, we are basically
saying that braille users should abandon punctuation altogether, which I'm sure
you'll agree we shouldn't do. I think we have to accept that we live in a
visual-based world, and that's the truth. I agree that computer Braille
capitalisation is a better way as it doesn't waste so many cells and you are
immediately informed of the letter and the fact that it is capitalised all at
once, just as a print reader would. Also, capitalisation is part of grammar,
which is an important part of the English language, along with many other
modern foreign languages.
