Hi Ian,
Not sure what you mean. My adapter has a USB plug at one end, and a nine
pin Serial Female at the other. You just plug the worm into the nine pin
Female, as the worm has a nine pin male, and then plug the USB end into your
PC. You can't get it wrong, and you can't plug the Worm in
directly.

serial cable between the Worm and the adaptor or is it better to plug the

Hi Ian,
All new Bookworms now come with a USB to Serial converter. These are
nothing special and any USB to Serial converter should work, even without XP
drivers.

Can anyone advise me as to the most effective way of connecting a bookworm
(a serial device) to a PC via the USB port please? I suppose what I'm
wondering is whether I'd need just a cable with serial to USB or an adaptor
with all sorts of fancy Dan drivers.
