Hi Carol.
1. please see the article i posted to access UK today for the
differences between windows7 and windows 10.
2. as shaun says, accessibility is unknown but people say it works quite
well with window eyes and NVDA at present with not much to worry about.
3. again, its unknown what doesn't work well until it hits users
machines and people really start complaining/complimenting.
4. again regarding familiar things for windows7 users, please see the
comparison article i posted earlier today.
5. again, the article regarding concepts that i posted? though again
from an accessibility standpoint, until people upgrade and conduct
podcasts and write guides from a VI prispective its difficult to be
specific what concepts you'll have to get used to. there shouldn't be
many. people slagged off windows8 that much that they made it much more
like windows7.
6. I've never upgraded on the day of release for any operating system. I
always like to upgrade my testing machines first, see what's broken then
wait a few months to see what changes they're forced to make based on
feedback before upgrading. you'll have a year from the date of release
to decide, so don't be pressured by the notification. in your case, both
your systems are fully capable of running it after the upgrades
performed on them by yours truly last year...
cheers,
Mo.

Hi all,
I have some questions about Windows 10 and really want to know more, so here's a starter:
1) What do you gain (in terms of new features) from Windows 10. (Please feel free to refer me to a useful and straightforward article in this respect if you wish.)
2) If you have Windows 10 and you're totally (or more or less totally) blind, what is the access like with Jaws and NVDA. (I don't use Window-Eyes, but if you want to add this info for those who may wish to know ... fine.)
3) What things just don't work well?
4) What are the familiar things about Windows 10 to those of us who are on Windows 7?
5) What are the new concepts that we'll have to learn?
6) If you've upgraded, would you say "Wait", "Upgrade but cautiously if .." or "Don't"!
I hope some of you will at least answer some of those questions for me. Didn't think I'd be interested yet but, strangely, I am, just a bit keen to know ...
