Yes, or go to Control Panel, type A for AutoPlay, then go in there and set your
preferences to how you would like these to be acknowledged when you insert a
CD, DVD, SD card, USB memory stick etc.

Janet/Stewart,
In Windows 10’s search/help box, simply type in the word “autoplay” (without
the quotes) and the option to turn autoplay on or off should be at the top.

Hi Janet,
I believe Windows 10 has auto play disabled by default as have previous
versions of Windows. This is to stop malicious code being executed simply by
putting a CD/DVD/memory stick into your PC.
I can’t remember off the top of my head where the option is in Windows 10 but I
seem to think this has been covered in a recent post in this group anyway.
What you should be able to do is put your CD and then use the Windows and E
keys to open Computer and find the CD in there.
The other option presuming your CD drive has been assigned D is to use the
Windows and R key and putting d: into the box and pressing Enter.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Stewart.

Hi Janet,
Is the laptop running Windows or Apple software? Do you which version?
