Hi,

I assume so. I was watching the hobbit film on Friday (do not
underestimate how far down I will go to alleviate boredom), and 'turn
on audio description' worked. I would assume the opposite to be true.

Really?  I didn't know that.  You mean you can say Turn off Audio
Ddescription and it will do it?

There is some AD that is really annoying, so this is useful to know.
Especially on Channel 4, when the describer is reading out what someone is
saying and you can hear them perfectly clearly as well.

All the best

Steve

Hello,

It turns out that if you have the voice control remote you can just tell it
to do so. I didn't know this in the past.

Hi again James.

As you know I'm  very new to SKY, but the guys who set it up for me
whent into settings and checked the box in there that ensured that all
AD content

would go through my system.

So you need sighted assistence to make sure that this check-box has
been checked.

Hope this of some assistance.

Andy Logue.

Sorry, by 'get it to speak' I meant get audio description to work.
Sky is still years behind with accessibility

Hi James.

I'm total and only recently recieved my new SKY box and remote
control, which goes to the channel you ask it too by pressing a side
butten on the remote.

I've not spent any time with it for over 3 weeks now as I believe I
need initial sighted assistance.

I was aware that the box will peep to let you know that this show is
audio described.

What I didn't know  however, was that this box can also speak !

If it can, then this is the  best news I've heard in years.

What makes you think that it also has a speach engine?

Very best wishes.

Andy Logue.

Hello,

My tv is beeping, indicating that a show has audio description, but
I don't know how to get it to speak. Does anybody know how to do
this without sighted assistance?

Thanks,
- James
