Andy, you are correct in saying Scottie McClue used this catch phrase, but Scottie used it when callers first got through to the show, and once he was asked by a caller from the USA, what it meant, and Scottie replied that it was a term of Endearment to welcome telephone callers to his show, and to make them feel at home. The Phrase could be used as a welcome, and as you said, when saying goodbye to Scottie and the whole Scottish nation.

Scottie McClue is no longer employed by T Talk107, as he has been axed from the station. His fans and supporters are at the moment in conflict with the radio station, trying to get the great man reinstated to his position as the best radio talk presenter ever. Anyone Intersted in finding out how the fight to get Scottie reinstated can find out by going to: www.Scottie-mcclue.com, and signing up to the Scottie McClue forums. There is also a Petition for you to lend your support for the great man.

Jackie - as Billy hasn't replied yet, Dinky Doo is a catch phrase use by
Scotty Mclue [radio talk show host of many stations, now back in Scotland]
that he uses to mean "cheerio." -
