Hi Peter,
I suspect it is because you are using AVG7, in all but text messages it appears to give the paperclip. Normally messages via Access have the paperclip stripped out.

Subject: [access-uk] Attachments icon

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me why I'm getting attachments icons with emails? There
are none of course, but the icon is there for Jaws to read. I'm using
Office XP.
Peter
