Sorry, not sure what happened there, so will paste below:

I personally would prefer to plug my 3.5mm into a connector that then plugs 
into a nice little snug lightening port. I’ve had so many 3.5mm jacks break, 
they are just too clumsy now and take up too much internal space. Ditching it 
could enhance water resistance.

I would feel a little more comfortable if Apple opened up the lightening 
standard so it could be used on other types of devices to create a new 
headphone standard. The lightening plug is much nicer than 3.5mm 

Let’s just hold back until Apple officially announce something and give us the 
reasons for their decision.

How funny would it be though if they had just simply decided to secretly move 
the jack back to the top of the phone!
