Hi Guys, I finally managed to solve the problem of having to add credit card details before Apple would allow you to register. If you register online at the Apple Store, you have to enter credit card details before you can complete the registration, failing to do so means you aren't able to download anything, not even the freebies from the App Store. People who have already registered with a credit card can easily remove their card details from within their Apple Account area. This is how to set up a new account with Apple without having to register a credit card. Open iTunes on your home computer and select the App Store. Select a Free App and hit the Buy button. You will now be asked to go through the registration process. After hitting the Continue button a few times, you'll come to your credit card details. At the bottom of the list of credit cards you'll find an option for None, so this is the one you select. You should now be able to complete the registration. You would need an adult to set up an account and then decide if they should give her the password or have her come to them every time she want to install an app. On 28/12/2011 19:44, Tom wrote: Hi Guys, My grandaughter received an iPod Touch from Santa but she can't download anything from the Apple store as she is too young to own a credit card. She wanted to download some free Apps but it kept asking for credit card details which she didn't have. Surely there's a way to download freebies as there's bound to be millions of kids who own iPods. Has anyone got any suggestions on how it's done? Tom.
