Hi Ian.
I really don’t understand why I am having this problem with audio description
because as far as I know everything is set up correctly. I was watching
something on BBC1 and part one had audio description lovely but subsequent
parts did not and I had not altered any settings: also my Sky Q doesn’t seem
to play with audio description whereas before the updates it was fine.
I really don’t know why or what I can do.
Mandy.

Hi Mandy
Audio description is working on my phone for iOS11. It's also working fine
connected to my Focus 14. There might be some bugs, but I still think the
update was worth getting.

Thanks Steve and Christopher.
How about my other issue of not having audio description on the phone either on
Sky Q even though the recordings recorded with it or on BBC iPlayer even when
you go to audio description setting?
Is this issue going to be addressed or is it only me experiencing it?
Mandy.

Hello Mandy, first of all, there are some nasty Braille related bugs in the
initial release of iOS 11, and I believe iOS 11.0.1. Applevis posted a very
informative blog post detailing the accessibility bugs that could affect
blind and low vision users, and Braille was the top listed bug in the
"severe" category. Same with deleting text messages, however if you double
tap the edit button, select messages one by one, you can still delete them
that way. Hopefully, these will be addressed in iOS 11.1 which is currently
in both developer and public betas.

Hi mandy,
Just to point out that with Android, if you want to get your Focus to work,
you’d need to download Brailleback as well as have Talkback running.
Braille on Android is not as good as Apple, but it’s coming.
All the best
Steve

I don’t know how many of you on this list are Apple users, maybe you are all
Androidi but I aam so very very fed up at the moment.
Foolishly I updated all of my Apple devices and although there are no
devices which actually don’t work, I now find I cannot easily delete text
messages, my Focus40 does not work properly and both on Sky Q and BBC
iPlayer, with the latter even going to the audio described section, there is
now no audio description.
I am seriously thinking of getting Android but it means starting over and I
know that in the past I tried, I couldn’t get my Focus40 to work at all even
though downloaded TalkBack.
Is anybody else having similar problems and frustrations?
Mandy.
