Hi Chris,Hmmmm well I would find it odd/puzzling that a component isn't working when it should be, which would lead me to check the rest of the program is working properly.But, personally I wouldn't worry about it not checking e-mail for viruses. I switched off the e-mail scanner quite some time ago and when I recently had to reinstall AVG I didn't bother installing the e-mail scanner. This was because ages ago I had a problem with corrupted mail boxes, and after reading about it, I came to the conclusion that having an anti virus scanner checking e-mail could have been a factor in this. Plus, the resident shield should pick up anything dodgey in any case.
