Well, Google was my first point of call, but I didn’t come up with what you found. It looks I need to brush up those Google skills of mine!

Martin, many thanks, youâ?Tre a star! That worked. Though after trying running Voice Control for a little while now, it looks like it can be a bit of a nuisance switched on all the time, so perhaps best to switch it on only when required, but that can be easily done using Hey Siri.

I found this on the web, sorry but lost the url. May be a way but you'd have to experiment.

voice control (should be available in iOS 13 or later).

If you receive a call with the accept and decline buttons, you can say "Tap accept" and the call will be answered, however not on speakerphone.

If you receive a call with the slide to answer button, you can say "slide to answer" or "tap slide to answer" (sorry I don't recall which one exactly)
and the call will be answered, however not on speakerphone.

Thanks, Steve, but how? This is my problem. When I press the wake/sleep button three times to switch on VoiceOver, the call is rejected in the process. Also, pressing and holding the wake/sleep button to turn on VoiceOver with voice command rejects the incoming call too. Mine is an iPhone 11 so it doesnâ?Tt have a Home button. Do you or anyone else have an idea on how to switch on VoiceOver without rejecting the incoming call in the process please? Alternatively, if someone comes up with a clever way of answering calls when VoiceOver is off that would be a good work around.

No, but why not just switch VoiceOver on, then answer the phone?  It's easy enough.

Subject: [access-uk] Answering calls with VoiceOver switched off?

Hi everyone,

Is there a way for us to answer incoming phone calls on the iPhone with VoiceOver switched off?

Naturally I would have VoiceOver switched off while using self-voiced apps, hence my question. To be honest, this is truly bugging me as all self-voiced iPhone apps are developed for the blind, but the developers do not seem to have considered this situation, and they have simply prioritised their apps over the primary function of the phone. Any thoughts?

Best,

Amro
