When I was a lawyer, and needed to listen to hundreds of pages of text every
day, I found that Eloquence was the best speech to enable me to spot a typo
at a hundred paces and at seventy miles per hour. It was the virtually
flawless pronunciation which was so good, for example to distinguish between
"correct" and "corect" (that time missing an R), and the ability of Jaws to
alter common words which may have been mispronounced which made it the
speech of choice for me.
That said, I quite understand that others, who may not need that degree of
precision, would prefer the more human sounding voices.

Vocalizer voices from Code Factory!
Hello Guys,
Other than making it sing, what is so good about it? I never understood what
the fuss was about. I only use it, because I have no choice. There are crash
codes, it can't even say something basic properly as identify, not sure why
its so loved. Could someone clarify what is lovely about it, please? If
hearing loss and that, I get it. But in general, why is it so loved?

Eloquence is just so much more precise, so you pretty much know what

Hi Chris
It's not a question of pleasing everyone. Of course, it's personal
choice, and I find Eloquence more understandable than current I O S
voices owing to my hearing loss. Why should we not have full access
to the full range of synthetic voices covering many platforms in order
to meet our personal needs?
Best wishes
Henry

Same here to be honest. Why have Eloquence when we have Alex? Guess we
can't please everyone.

Hi Steve,
Have you tried the SAPI Eloquence voice with any screen reader?
I'm wondering how responsive the voice is through SAPI compared
with the built-in versions.
Cheers.
Ian
