How quiet, or not, are the braille cells when refreshing? Do you know the
refresh rate of the sells? Does the display have panning buttons and where are
they located? Do the sells have any give in them at all when firmly pressed?

Hi Mo,
I forgot to say, the noise that Josh mentioned when you turn it on/off and do
other things, for the most part is fixed. There is an option called “Buzzer
Off” in settings. The only time this fails is at power on, you still get the
loud beep. I have asked Innovision Tech to fix this, so that if Buzzer is off,
it applies globally, and they say they will.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t charge using USB, so you have to use the 19V charger.
I don’t like this either, but they claim it fast charges the battery.
As to the other issues in that thread, most of them are fixed, except the
limitations of capitals not being shown because you only have six dots. But
they are shown if you set your screen reader to contracted Braille. That is,
NVDA will show caps if it does the translation, but if you load a BRF file as
Josh says, then the translation would be in the file, and this is not a
limitation of the Braille Me.
For me personally though, it is better than the Orbit, purely because it has
cursor routing keys, and they work great. And I’m not speaking as a reseller
in that regard, just a user.
Some issues I’d like to see fixed are, you can’t navigate the menus using first
letter navigation, so you can only arrow up or down.
You can’t say Yes or No to a prompt using letters, you have to use cords,
Backspace+Dot 3 for Yes, and Backspace+Dot 6 for No, these seem odd
combinations.
Other than that, it is working well for me.
I have tried it with NVDA, Android and iOS and it doesn’t disappoint.

This is certainly excellent news. What I am not keen on is the fact that it
needs a specific 19V power supply to charge. Can it be charged via USB like the
orbit for convenience? also, some people may find the following thread
interesting. It's a discussion that took place about the braille me on the NVDA
list a few months ago. Hopefully the company have addressed the issues
mentioned or are planning to do so.
