You simply perform an up then right gesture and one of the options in the
circular menu on the screen is label button. You have to be focused on the
button before you up and right.

You also must have Talkx 3.50 which is the latest Play Store version.

In Settings, Accessibility, Talks settings, you'll have manage labels, where
you can edit and remove them.

All the best

Hi
Can I ask how the buttons are labeled with Talkback?

Hi,

The buttons are not important, because they can be labelled with Talkback.

Try reading a document with Talkback and tell us if that works.

I use magnification myself but I tested with Talkback and it reads the
buttons out but if you can't see at all, you won't know that some of the
icons aren’t visible on the screen as they need the two fingers sliding
across gesture to reveal them. It was just a suggestion I was making - I
hadn't considered the Talkback aspect of it - apologies!

Hi,

Are you saying Kingsoft is accessible then? I haven't tried it but if you
are right I will give it a whirl.

Hi
Is there a list for Android or anywhere we can see a list of accessible
Apps? Especially looking for ones which take notes, etc. like a Word
Processing package.

Hi listers,

Quite so. It is worthwhile gathering as much info about the various devices.
Mention was made of the Galaxy S3 Mini: It does not seem to accept an otg
adapter and so cannot be used with a usb keyboard. Connected to an Amazon
Basics bluetooth keyboard it also seems not to function either.

Hth,

Mike

Just because you've tried couple of devices and they did not work you can't
claim that it "never" works. Is android accessibilitty perfect? Sure is not.
Should be a better/faster way to turn on access? Sure there should be. The 2
finger double tap works when setting up a new phone. Not sure what device
you used and the speach kept cutting out or didn't read what you wanted it
to. With android you have a choice of devices and though some might work
better than others and one might need to be careful which to choose, that's
certainly not a reason for android to not be considered as an option for a
blind person. I think rather than bashing android, more needs to be done to
help people make having an informed decision and help people choose a right
android device.

I'm not really convinced with that mehtod of turning accessibility on. I
tried a friend/s Samsung S3 Mini from the setup screen and it didn't do
anything. I tried to get my daughter to turn Talkback on her S3 Mini and
kept on getting a error message about setting the right language when the
phone was purchased here in the UK. This is why people just don't trust the
Android OS because it doesn't do what it says on the tin I'm afraid. Another
example is when I bought a tablet and Talk back would read what I was
touching and then it would cut out and read nothing. I mean how bloody
shabby is that. I'm honestly trying to give Android the benefit of doubt put
these incidents don't help a jot. Large propotion of people turn to IOS
because it's trusted and Voiceover is well polished. Another words it does
what it says on the tin. I would love to promote Android as well as IOS but
how can I recommend something that just never works as it should!
