Hi, Yes, the Mini is better in that it is on 4.2. Still not on Kitkat yet though. Maybe the Amazon Basics is just that, basic and is only an old version of Bluetooth. It is worthwhile gathering as much info about the various devices. Mention was made of the Galaxy S3 Mini: It does not seem to accept an otg adapter and so cannot be used with a usb keyboard. Connected to an Amazon Basics bluetooth keyboard it also seems not to function either. Is android accessibilitty perfect? Sure is not. Should be a better/faster way to turn on access? Sure there should be. The 2 finger double tap works when setting up a new phone. Not sure what device you used and the speach kept cutting out or didn't read what you wanted it to. With android you have a choice of devices and though some might work better than others and one might need to be careful which to choose, that's certainly not a reason for android to not be considered as an option for a blind person. I think rather than bashing android, more needs to be done to help people make having an informed decision and help people choose a right android device. -----Original Message----- From: Saqib Sent: Saturday, November 23, 2013 9:20 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: The Moto G I'm not really convinced with that mehtod of turning accessibility on. I tried a friend/s Samsung S3 Mini from the setup screen and it didn't do anything. I tried to get my daughter to turn Talkback on her S3 Mini and kept on getting a error message about setting the right language when the phone was purchased here in the UK. This is why people just don't trust the Android OS because it doesn't do what it says on the tin I'm afraid. Another example is when I bought a tablet and Talk back would read what I was touching and then it would cut out and read nothing. I mean how bloody shabby is that. I'm honestly trying to give Android the benefit of doubt put these incidents don't help a jot. Large propotion of people turn to IOS because it's trusted and Voiceover is well polished. Another words it does what it says on the tin. I would love to promote Android as well as IOS but how can I recommend something that just never works as it should! > On 22 Nov 2013, at 11:04, "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > Hi Mo, > > Turn it on, wait for about 20 seconds, then put two fingers on the > screen slightly apart.
