Hi Iain
I'm with you there entirely. For me, Echo is clearer than Google Home, but
the sound on the Mini is well balanced compared to the Dot. And Sonos is
superior anyway.
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

For what it's worth, i prefer the sound ofthe Google Mini to the Echo Dot.
However, I prefer the sound of the Echo to the Google Home. Of course, the
Sonos One will sound even better and give you Alexa now and possibly Google
later this year.

Hi Martin
I think they are both as good. I have a Google Home Mini in the
kitchen and a Google Home in the living-room, and I've grouped them
together so that when I say: "OK Google, play BBC Radio Five Live on
Downstairs," they both come up straight away and are in perfect sync
with each other. I know you can achieve this on Alexa as well.
Kind regards,

Hi Clive and Jacky
I'm not worried over the headphone jack as the speaker will be on top
of my kitchen wall cupboard. If the google mini has better sound then
that is a factor, but what about the microphones, is one better at
picking up commands than the other? I'm not interested in amazon music,
people.
Thanks
Martin

Hi Martin
I have both and like both for different reasons. Personally, I
believe Google Home or the Mini is easier to connect to WiFi,
sometimes Echo can be a bit awkward in the way this is achieved for some

If you have things like Amazon Prime or an Amazon music library, then
the Dot or Echo would link up with those devices.
But as you have a Chromecast, you might prefer the little Google Home
Mini which will do all you are looking for. And I think you could
Chromecast to your device as well.
Kind regards,

Subject: [access-uk] Amazon echo or google home?
Hi Folks
My Sonus 1xt is faulty and I'm looking at getting iether an Amazon
Echo or Google Home smart speakers (or if htere is any other smart
speaker) for listening to my radio stations.
It may just be a personal preference but can I have peoples thoughts
on which to get as there may be a difference in sound quality? I
don't want it to do anything flashy like turning lights on etc, all I
want to do is to ask it to play for instance Majic or Radio 5 and for
me not to have to sign up to any monthly membership etc. . So is
this possible?
I would probably go for the smaller version of speaker so It'll fit
on top of my kitchen cupboards. WiFi connectivity is not a problem.
Bye the way if it makes any difference in my choice I have a google
chromecast attached to my TV.
Thanks
Martin
