I bought a battery base for my dot as I move it around the house a lot. I
take it into the gym and connect to my bluetooth sound bar to play music and
use it as a timer when working out and it works really well. The battery
life is rated at 6 hours continuous use but far higher when sat in standby
waiting for commands. Plenty to choose from on amazon.

I've moved it around the house with no issues. I've also had it sitting in
a draw unplugged for a week and it's still worked perfectly without any
issues when switched back on again.
