Hi,

I've tried with both and it's pretty sluggish.

It's better with Firefox though.

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve.

Yes, the website is updated in real-time, I'm using it with JAWS and I can't
say it's all that sluggish, however as you are still in to window-eyes, I
can't comment on the performance of the website as I don't know how well it
behaves with that screen reader.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim,

Wow, the web site is as sluggish as the app.  This is because it is almost
continuously refreshing I think.

The android app seems to me better than the iOS app for sluggishness, but
there isn't a lot in it.

All the best

Steve

Hi Jackie.

Go to http://alexa.amazon.com whilst logged in to your account to access the
Alexa service portal on your PC or Mac.  You must have set up your Echo
first though using the Alexa app, however once done, you can completely
access all functions of your Echo from the web portal including managing and
setting up skills.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi,

You can only add skills using the app I believe.

All the best

Subject: [access-uk] Alexa web page

Does anyone know the web page we can use for Alexa in addition to, or
preferably instead of, the app?

I have got a little further with the app, but gosh it is so hit or miss that
I really don't enjoy the experience.  For example, if I go to the Skills tab
and actually manage to activate it, there are items on there like UK Train
Times, the Guardian, and I think Radio Player.  But after adding the skill
to a couple, my time is up, and the app stops opening the links, meaning I
have to close it down altogether and start again.  So I am wondering,
following a conversation with Shaun this morning when we were recording, if
the website is any better.  I have put in several searches, but I don't see
an actual site that lets you add skills, clear searches etc.

I am about to go away for the weekend, but will tackle the Android version
on my return.  It would be nice if it worked on the BrailleNote Touch, but
I'll try that too.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Brown
