Yeah, but if a normal album costs £10.99 for example, and you buy it on MP3VA
and a dollar, how the heck are artists getting royalties? I'm surprised you
would even sanction these sites if you're in a band.

In your opinion perhaps Steve. Don't though start me on royalties, I play in a
band and we have released an album. £3.99 on iTunes and we get about 10 pence,
so, where's the fairness in that eh? Smiles

Another one that sounds a bit ropey to me.
I bet the artists are not getting the royalties.

Hi Mo,
I cannot recommend highly enough https://www.iomoio.com/index.html
It is totally legal, extremely accessible, certainly using Jaws and NVDA, it's
got a huge library of artists and even more exciting, is the exceptionally low
prices. You can buy a single mp3 file from about 8 pence. Whole albums tend
to be around £1.20.
The way it works generally is that you will buy set blocks of credits. Once
you start to pay over about £30, you get extra credits. So, for example, if
you buy £16 worth, you will get exactly £16. But, if you pay £32, then you
will get your £32 plus an extra £16. If you pay £48, then you get that plus
£32. This goes right up to if you pay £96, then you get a whole £96 on top
again. And, as I say, its very accessible. It's also extremely addictive!
Smiles. If I were to complain about anything about it that would be the fact
that the prices for an album tends to depend on the number of tracks and
physical disks. So, if you buy a double album, then you will pay around £2.40
or so. Although, in the overall scheme of things, this is still way cheaper
than the vast majority of other outlets.
Best wishes
Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Advice wanted: Best websites to buy MP3 songs/albums
Hello Everyone.
I was recently talking to a friend of mine who is getting on in years.
She would like to buy songs that she used to own on record/cassette and put
them on memory sticks to listen to on her portable player. She is happy to pay
as long as there is a decent selection of tracks and you can download them as
MP3 files. Sound quality doesn't need to be fantastic, 128K or 256K would
probably do the trick. Does anyone know of a service with a huge selection? I
would rather sign her up to a service that is easy to use if possible and
doesn't just support a few or obscure artists. If people could comment on
accessibility, ease of use etc that would be very much appreciated.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to any responses.
Mo.
