Actually I am not quite sure how jaws 4.x will handle the latest version of Adobe reader. I vaguely remember having some issues.
It's late here but I have jaws 4.51 as the oldest version installed on my system still and will give it a go tomorrow and report back if there are any problems reading a document.

Derek As I have said elsewhere, you should be ok with JAWS 4 and higher. The default accessibility settings for the Adobe reader program should see you through most documents you are likely to encounter. If you need any further help, the list is here to be asked. Does it make any difference version of Jaws used? I may get all this sorted out when I have my new set up for scanner, as the county council has agreed to fund 2 days of training. So once the scanner and jaws is sorted out hopefully there will then be time to learn how to download, install, and use PDF files. My computer skills are definitely below average! I think it's down to fact I am often afraid to try something new, becausem worried something will go wrong and then unable to put it right. Funny thing is, I am very confident when it comes to mobility out and about, but far less confident when it comes to the computer. Thanks again.
