Hi Billy,
Sounds like the system is past it's 30 day period for making
life easy doing this.
If he is sighted, he should follow the on-screen prompts,
which will walk him through the process of either activation
over the internet, or telephoning Microsoft in the U.K.
If he's blind, he'll need sighted help to do the above.

George, what I can make oot by talking with him on the
phone.
He had bought this computer from another friend of his, and
when he turns it
on instead of xp home loading, it asks him to activate
windows xp home.
He doesn't understand how to activate windows. Hope this is
