HI clive:

If it is specialist software, such as an instillation cd such as you have,
you soemtimes do not need to activate windows. There is something in these
setups which means you do not have to do this. When I had a desktop with
similar recovery disc, I had to completely restore my pc many times, and
never got asked for activation in four years. In the end, the dam pc blew
up! Heheh,.

Hi Clive, I seem to remember that "Activate Windows" is one of the top items
in the start menu. You can also find it by pressing the activation icon in
the system tray. Hope that helps.

Subject: [access-uk] Activating windows XP Home

Hello everyone,

I have successfully reinstalled windows XP Home on my Toshiba Satellite A60
Pro laptop. I know Windows XP has to be activated after installation, but I
cannot find where one does this in system Tools. I am wondering because my
recovery CD contains the operating system and Toshiba software if activation
is necessary. It is not the same as buying a single copy from a shop or
elsewhere. any advice most appreciated. thanks in advance.

Best wishes,

Clive Pallett
