Billy, and if you're a Jaws user don't forget to change the keyboard layout in Jaws to laptop. You do that in options/basics. And if you can't really live without the number pad you can get a USB one from any of the high street computer shops. For what it worth, I even use the laptop keyboard layout with my desktop. I like to have both the caps lock key as well as the insert key function as the Jaws key. Just as an example, I find it easier to press caps lock with f7 to get the links list in IE and caps lock with f12 to get the time. It's even easier to press caps lock with the letter k or with number 5 to read/spell a word for instance rather than having my both hands stretched to the left to do that with insert + 5. Honestly the Laptop layout is a lot more fun to use! Maybe I'm missing something or maybe because my first two computers were laptops, but I feel that FS should really merge the two Jaws keyboard layout options into one.

HTH,
Amro

Billy, I too have just obtained a laptop and I find that by using jaws key and 1, it goes into help mode and most of the keys on the keyboard are spoken out, giving you a clue as to the layout.

hi guys, sorry for the Acer post again, but I have now received my Acer Aspire5920 laptop, and need some hints/tips on how to recognise functions ETC. Some help with the layout of the keyboard would be of great help as well.
I have never used a laptop computer before, and it is quite a task,
