Hi Scot. I’m very surprised you’d be having trouble with In Daisy, especially as it was specifically designed to meet the needs of visually impaired and blind users, however to answer your question re audible, the app is certainly very straight forward to use, however I’d urge you to make your purchases through a PC as the Audible app does not provide a mechanism to buy books through in app purchases the way some content based services are offered. Also, I strongly suggest you take out a monthly membership plan as books are offered at a significant discount through the credits system and there are often special offers and discounts only available to Audible members. At the moment for instance, every title on Audible is reduced by 40% for the holiday season. All the best and good luck with your audible journey. I will have a look at this other program as I would like to listen to my RNIB books there. Is the Audible app easy to navigate? thanks Scott ----- Original Message ----- From: Ibrahim Gucukoglu To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, December 19, 2011 3:49 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Accessing talking books on the Ipod help please Hi Scot. Sorry you didn’t find In Daisy to your liking. Were you able to get books uploaded to your IPod and get In Daisy to recognise and play them? Have you looked at the levelware website www.levelware.com and browsed the help and information they provide? If you are still not happy with In Daisy, another product called Read2Go is available which will play RNIB’s talking books, but I haven’t personally used it so cant vouch for its performance. As for Audible, yes, you do have to buy titles from them, they are a commercial distributor of digital audio books and pretty much a one stop shop for the latest releases in audio. They have far more unabridged books than RNIB, however RNIB does have its place. All the best, Ibrahim. What other options can folks suggest please? I've heard about audible... but again I believe it costs for their books... I love my RNIB books and would be able to listen to them on my Ipod touch, any help greatly appreciated folks, thanks, Scott
