[access-uk] Accessing list of E mails on thunderbird?

Hi folks, can anyone tell me how to get jaws 17 to read the list of E mails in 
my thunderbird  in-box without having actually to open them? I tab to the list 
and try to open the list but jaws reads nothing, is there a command or setting 
to do this?  Thanks
