I'm no expert, Roger, but the two things I would try is firstly to try "save
as" and then choose text in the offered formats.
If that doesn't work, find the original file in your deleted items and
re-read it there and this time, if you still want to save it, save it as a
text file.

Subject: [access-uk] Accessing A Saved File
I use Outlook 2016 as my mail client. I recently received a post containing
information I needed. I saved it into my Documents folder for later study.
When I went to open it later I found I had not changed the format and it was
an .eml extension which I don't seem able to open. Can someone help me
please.
