[access-uk] Accessible theme and audio vs screenreaders

If I wanted to build a site for visually impaired rather than blind
users, providing I cut out most of the text they have on the demo
site, would you say this would be acceptable from a colour and
contrast perspective? http://wp-themes.com/neutica/

Secondly, for those that are totally blind and rely on screenreaders,
what happens when the site serves up audio that plays automatically?

For example, if I display some text on screen in large print, I also
want a sound file reading that text, rather than having an automated
screen reader do it.

For example, does Homer, WebbIE, Webanywhere or whatever you use,
pause before reading? I am trying to avoid "sound collisions". Perhaps
a 5 second pause before the audio plays, and text at the top which
says "Audio follows, please temporarily disable your browser screen
reader" or something?
