Hi Roger.

A VPN or Virtual Private Network connection is a secure way of routing traffic 
across the internet.  Usually, when you make an internet connection either to a 
website, the routing request may travel through many different computer 
servers, some of which may be less than secure.  This is just fine if you’re 
browsing websites like the BBC or your favourite newspapers, however if becomes 
a problem when you need to access sensitive information or you wish to conduct 
activities that could be frowned upon should they be discovered.  A VPN routes 
your internet traffic through secure servers and in addition lets you virtually 
browse from any one of over 100 countries depending on the service provider you 
choose, letting you access content and services that might not be available in

Hi Steve

Two questions for you, firstly what is the outlay on such a Rueter, secondly 
who provides the VPN service. If the Rueter comes with unlimited VPN service as 
standard, I presume that is hosted by someone as part of your purchase?

Hi Barry.

I use Tunnel Bear VPN which offers you 500 mb of free service per month, 
irrespective of whether you take out a paid plan with them.  They are the only 
VPN to my knowledge that offers clean, accessible clients on all the major 
platforms including pc, Android and iOS.  You can get a year service, they call 
it the grizzly bear naturally for £59.99 per year.
