I have all my films now on Google Play and can take them anywhere with me. I
don’t like disks of any kind any more, they are liable to scratches, faults,
etc, and are less accessible.

Call me old school, but I love having films on disk. Can’t explain why since I
consume pretty much everything else electronically including books, music and
audiobooks but when it comes to films I will never download a film I will
always buy it on DVD. Paragraph I have DVD playback software on my PC and watch
my DVDs that way or I have a built in DVD player on my TV which works just as
well for me.

No, you can’t Steve, not unless you can navigate the menus but that would apply
to any DVD you have regardless of what play are you using it in.

The portable DVD I had at one time had a button which enabled you to switch
language tracks, so when you had a DVD playing, you could switch to the audio
described version of a film providing that was on the DVD. This is generally
how I watch DVDs, insert disk, wait for the things to load up, press enter a
few times to get through the menus and into the meat of the film, then press
whatever keyboard shortcut or button is required to switch to the audio
described language track. That is all there is to it for me. Any DVD player
weather connected to a TV or the portable kind is going to present the DVD in
the same way so if you are fortunate enough to have one of the few talking DVDs
that were released then you should have no problems navigating it but for the
rest of us….
